Local Spotlight on Candidate Jeremy G Verhoeven

StettlerLocal.com September 23, 2021 3:45pm

Why are you running?

It’s time to see some new faces in council. With new people comes new ideas, better approachability and increased enthusiasm

What riding are you running for?

Stetter Ward 5

What is your background?

Born and raised in Stetter since 1982. Lived here with a large family base and really enjoyed growing up in a small town atmosphere. Along with my wife, I am raising 3 young girls and hope they can have the same opportunities I had in the county of Stettler. I own and operate my own trucking company that hauls sand gravel, round bales, and light oilfield products that allows me some free time to pursue other ventures.

What do you hope to accomplish if you win?

I hope to bring a sense of new youthful thinking to the county. There has been a lack of new development in the area drawing in new investment and jobs that go along with that. The world is changing, weather less dependence on fossil fuels or climate change, to the tech sector. The county should be able to stay on par with other municipalities for future thinking.

Anything else you would like to let people know?

People say they never have time but you do make time for what is important. I feel being part of the county council is important and would make the time needed to see the improvements this municipality needs.

Thank you to Jeremy G Verhoeven for participating in our Candidate Spotlights.
