The Stettler Lightning were back in action this past weekend, after almost a year without hockey, as they played a couple of exhibition games against the Mountainview Colts. The Bolts suffered 5-0 and 7-2 losses, but the play was much closer than the scores indicate in both games.
Stettler did not find the back of the net until late in the first period of the second game. Brett Hanson at even strength and Jonas Madlung had the teams tied at 2 after 20 minutes on the powerplay, but a couple of fortunate bounces for the Colts in the second period got them back on top to stay.
Teams were really hoping this health situation would be behind for this season but the reality is different. Please stay tuned to this space for further updates.
