Flexible Hours - $25/hr - Great Work Environment - Work Out in the Community
StettlerLocal.com is a locally owned and operated by Rairdan Services, Inc. and is an independent online news publication in Stettler, AB offering local news and community updates. We are currently hiring for a local Reporter/Photographer to cover news and events in the town and County of Stettler.
The successful candidate will:
Report directly to the Editor
Submit a minimum of three articles a week to the Editor
Cover local events, municipal meetings, socio-economic and political issues as assigned by the Editor
Be comfortable taking photos and videos, asking questions and interviewing the public
Attend Tuesday afternoon team meetings
Attend weekly Monday morning meetings with the Editor
Follow all StettlerLocal.com Editorial Policies
Be professional at all times
Follow all Rairdan Services, Inc. Employee Policies
Have a passion for our community and providing accurate news
Qualifications
The chosen candidate will have a strong interest in local politics and be able to follow stories developing out of municipal councils and school board meetings that will be of interest to our readers. Submitting well written, accurate stories on, or before, the deadline is mandatory.
You should:
Have a passion for civic news and an understanding of municipal government
Be able to work efficiently and independently
Use critical thinking skills and solve problems
Be able to accept constructive criticism and Editor guidance
Have a laptop and reliable vehicle
Manage your time well
Be able to voice any work concerns to your Editor
This position is contract $25/hr but could become full-time for the right candidate.
