Stettler Car Club hosts Show & Shine at Ag Grounds

The Stettler Car Club hosted a Show and Shine at the Ag Grounds today as part of the Steel Wheel Stampede festivities.

Attendees were many of the same who had been at the Aspen Car Show & Shone last week, however unlike last week’s showing, this one focused on more classic cars.

One of the cars was Ray O’Hara’s Plymouth Satellite. O’Hara has owned the car since 1970. Originally, the car was his ‘every-day’ car, but over the years to preserve the life of the vehicle it is now only taken out for pleasure cruises and car shows. O’Hara plans to pass the car on to his children and is pretty sure his grandchildren will end up with it at some point as well.

The original space marked off for the show, was quickly extended west-ward as more cars started showing up.

One of the cars was a rare-model Thunderbird that garnered a lot of attention from car enthusiasts. Another car that was briefly on display was a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, done up like the one from the Burt Reynolds movie Smokey and the Bandit.
