Manager in Training - Agricultural Operations, UFA - Mar 1

Position Summary:

UFA

Reporting to the Area Manager, the Manager in Training position is responsible for developing the skills and knowledge required to manage a UFA retail store successfully and be able to assume a location within an agreed upon selected geography with short notice. This applies to all aspects of store management, ensure financial targets are met; foster a culture of customer service excellence; provide coaching and direction to all employees; follow proper processes including Health and Safety policies and operational standards.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Become integrated with the UFA retail business by managing the store efficiently and safely, including conducting store opening/closing procedures, supervising employee interactions, monitoring financial status, measuring all process and compliance, and ensuring all UFA policies and procedures are adhered to.

  • Act as a Store Manager in his/her absence which includes: making decisions in relation to the customer service requirements, and dealing with employee relations, recruitment and performance management and applying policies and procedures as required.

  • Assisting the Store Manager with the scheduling of employees and all-time management activity.

  • Responsible for self-development of all Store Manager Accountabilities and providing input on all Management aspects of a UFA retail store.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in a previous Manager role in a retail environment or Agriculture industry.

  • College diploma or degree in business is an asset.

  • Proven track record in customer sales/service and leadership is required.

  • Results oriented with strong oral, written and presentation communication skills.

  • Proficiency with all Microsoft applications and POS/mainframe systems.

  • Must be willing to relocate to a Store within an agreed to geography with short notice.

  • Must adhere to pre-employment substance abuse testing.
