Where are you from? Where did you grow up?
I am from Athabasca, AB, grew up on a mixed farming operation west of there.
Why do you (did you) choose Stettler as home?
I lived in Athabasca for many years but then a job took me to Coronation where I lived for a year. After John and I got married, the farm in Botha became my home which I love. Stettler is in close proximity and has many great shops .
What do you do? What is your full title?
I have two part time jobs that I enjoy. I am the Manager of Recreation and Insurance with the County of Stettler and am the Executive Director of the Stettler Information and Referral Centre
Education?
You might not guess it but I have a Bachelor of Education Degree, specializing in Elementary Ed from the U of A. I am a Certified Playground Instructor so you may see me in various playgrounds around the Town and County of Stettler
Family?
I have been married to my spouse John for 25 years and have two lovely children Mackenzie and Justin. They are both grown and so we are now empty nesters!
Who inspired you in your youth? I would say my father as he had a great sense of humor, was a hard worker and was very community minded; always helping out neighbors and friends
Who inspires you now?
My family and friends are always supporting me in whatever I want to do and have always been there for me through good and bad days.
Do you have any hobbies?
Bike riding, reading, swimming
What are your plans for the future?
Take more holidays hopefully overseas and see more of the world. Continue working for a while and see what happens from there.
Anything else you would like to add about being a resident of Stettler?
It has been great living in this community as everyone is very friendly and they come together in a time of need. I love seeing the many positive changes that are happening in our community that makes it a great place to live.
