Emergency Services were dispatched to a report of a head-on collision at approximately 2:30 pm on Thursday, September 10, 2020 just north of Stettler on Highway 56.
Two vehicles were reported to be involved and two pick up trucks with significant damage could be seen a few hundred metres apart in the north and southbound lanes respectively, with one truck appearing to be partially off the highway and it’s rear wheels in the ditch.
The incident, initially called in by an on scene Fish & Wildlife officer, saw RCMP, Emergency Medical Services and Stettler Regional Fire & Rescue attend.
Traffic was blocked in both directions as the investigation was ongoing throughout the afternoon, causing many northbound vehicles to turn around to find a different route, while southbound traffic was rerouted east and west at Range Road 392.
Details are still rather sparse at this time and there is no information regarding possible injuries, cause, or fault available currently.
