Canadian High and Junior High School Rodeo Finals feature local talent

Stettler County is well known for its Rodeo talent, and this year’s young rodeo athletes are working hard to carry on that legacy.

This year’s Canadian High school and Junior High Rodeo finals were held August 4th through 6th in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. Stettler County had 9 athletes qualify for Junior High events, and 5 qualify for High School events.

From that number, local youth came home with 1 All-Around Championship, 9 Championships, and 4 Reserve titles out of 28 categories, with others achieving a place in the Canadian Top 5 in their categories.

Not all had the best of luck on the weekend, but having qualified for the top event in Canada in their respective disciplines is a great achievement.
