StettlerLocal.com Aug 16, 2022 @ 3:20pm

Where are you from? Where did you grow up?

I live SE of Botha, Grew up in Lethbridge.

Why do you (did you) choose Stettler as home?

Met me a boy and we have now been married 6 years

What do you do? What is your full title?

I’m an LPN at the Castor Hospital in Emerg, acute care and LTC. I also just finished an advanced foot care course so I’ll be adding that to my position. I help out/work on our family farm/feedlot. I also have been starting my own little herds and flocks! I also love casually helping out at Sweet Home on Main in the boutique. I volunteer with some lovely ladies on the Animal Haven Rescue League Board. My official titles are dog coordinator, fundraising coordinator and President.

Education?

I graduated from Lethbridge College as a Licensed Practical Nurse. I have been learning so much about farming and farm animals from a variety of wonderful experienced people. Such as Skocdopole family members, neighbours, friends and community members.

Family?

Married to Dan Skocdopole. 2 boys Thomas and Gus

Who inspired you in your youth? Her name was Jessie Snow, she was my mom’s friend’s mom who because one of my best friends! She was an amazing mother, farm wife, teacher and friend. She was the strongest and most resilient person, who always had the most amazing smile! She found the joy in every piece of life!

Who inspires you now?

So many women inspire me! Moms, nurses, women in agriculture, the list can go on and on. Farmers, ranchers, cowboys and anyone involved in agriculture! Their hard work and resiliency just amazes me!

Do you have any hobbies?

Is volunteering a hobby? … I love volunteering and helping out where I can! I used to love refinishing furniture and being creative (hoping to soon get back at it!). I really want to learn to sew and start quilting.

What are your plans for the future?

My number one future plan is to have as much fun and spend as much time with my kiddos. I love watching them learn and grow but man do they grow too fast! I want to continue growing my cow herds and flocks. I want to become more involved in my surrounding communities.

Anything else you would like to add about being a member of the community in Stettler County?

I appreciate everyone who makes our little town so amazing! We have an amazing set of business owners, volunteers, committees to who help our residents of all ages.
