Align Equine is a new 100% mobile Equine Veterinary service run by Dr. Cheryl Malin of Botha. After completing her veterinary degree at Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatchewan, Dr. Malin worked for seven years in mixed practice (large and small animal) in Stettler before working with a specialized equine vet clinic last year. She has now started her own Alberta-wide, mobile equine-only practice based out of Stettler county.

Cheryl and her husband Colin live near Botha, and when she’s not working, she enjoys photography and spending time with her horses.

Her Veterinary Technologist, Melissa Whelpton RVT, worked in Stettler at the Veterinary clinic for three years before working at an equine-specific practice for the last few months.

Dr. Malin’s specialty is teeth and internal medicine, although she deals with all equine health issues. She also provides referrals, if necessary, to specialists in other fields, such as ophthalmology, cardiology, or surgery.

Align’s mobile clinic is fully equipped, including X-Ray and Ultrasound machines, to provide the best modern medical care. Their base operating hours are 7 am to 6 pm Monday to Thursday, but they are available for emergencies 24/7, and they offer flexibility from that schedule if necessary for appointments.

The mission of Align Equine Veterinary Services is to work as a team with other practitioners to maximize every horse’s potential. Their philosophy is to have people succeed with their horses, no matter what discipline they choose. Be it pasture pet or world-class competitor, Align seeks to help partnerships be their best.
