On Saturday, March 5, 2022, Stettler will welcome Wiklund vs Wiklund, the musical duo based out of Red Deer. The pair has hundreds of live performances to their credit; they have opened for significant stars, won awards, and done performances from Alberta to Brooklyn, New York.
The married couple Dan and Melody grew up in small-town Manitoba but moved to Alberta in 2001. Their debut album ‘Love Aches’ was released in 2018. They toured and performed throughout 2018 and 2019, but with work scarce throughout the pandemic, they focused on writing and virtual performances.
In 2021, along with playing live shows, the duo challenged themselves to produce a new song every month, with their final tally for the year being eight written, recorded and released singles.
Their music is self-described as ‘Canadiana’, ‘contemporary roots’ and folk-rock with a bit of country tossed in. Their show promises to be fun and lighthearted while delivering a musical punch everyone can enjoy.
Melody has a soulful, dynamic vocal style that commands attention and Dan’s guitar playing has an emphasis on classic rock music. The two of them together on stage create fantastic music and bring the words “fun concert” back to your lips.
