Join the Stettler Friendship Circle on Sunday May 4, for a walk to remember and bring awareness to the epidemic of missing and murdered. Please come and observe the site we will have on display at the West Stettler Hill. If you have drums or rattles, please feel free to bring them.
The Stettler Public Library will also be hosting a movie at 6:30 pm on Monday May 5th. It is a PBS documentary - Bring Her Home (2022)
Red Dress Day, also known as the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and Two-Spirit People, is observed on May 5th. The day honors and brings awareness to the thousands of Indigenous women, girls, and two-spirit people who have been subject to disproportionate violence in Canada. It began with Métis artist Jaime Black’s REDress Project, which displays red dresses in public spaces throughout Canada and the United States.
