The Town of Stettler is looking for mature, energetic and qualified individuals to fill position of Part- time Senior Lifeguard/ Instructor.
Reporting to the Aquatic Manager, the duties of the Lifeguard/Instructor will include but not limited to: life guarding, instructing/teaching, supervision of Junior Staff, first Aid, administrative duties, pool operations, and maintenance of facility and observation of a safe workplace environment.
Candidates must be able to work 30 plus hours involving week-ends and evenings, and be flexible in hours and days of work. This position does include benefits.
Ideal Candidates will have the following:
Current National Life-guarding Service Award
Current Standard First Aid or Aquatic Emergency Care
Lifesaving Swim Instructor
Pool Operations 1 AARFP or Equivalent
Ability to work independently in a constantly changing environment
Ability to work efficiently in a team when delivering lessons or responding to an emergency situation
Customer service skills to deal with the public in a positive and constructive manner
Additional assets could include: (for Shift Supervisor)
Lifesaving instructor
Water Fitness Instructor
Additional awards (NLSI, AECI, LSSIT)
Any other courses that would be an asset to the position.
