The Stettler Variety Showcase board works every year to bring in varied artists from around the country for the community’s entertainment.

Like last year, everything is on hold due to the ongoing COVID pandemic. The board continues to have to change plans as the situation, and government restrictions vary.

Many artists currently booked with the showcase signed contracts as far back as two years ago but have still not performed.

Reducing audience size is not feasible as the costs of bringing artists to town don’t change with fewer tickets sales.

Members of the Stettler Variety Showcase board usually travel to Fort Saskatchewan in October to view talent for the following season so they can decide who to bring to Stettler. Due to AHS restrictions, the number of members allowed to go is limited, so the board plans to host a ‘watch party’ and watch the artists’ live stream from the Fort Saskatchewan event.
