Memories from home, experiences, and laughter make us all feel welcome no matter where we came from or where we call home. Celebrate with our local restaurants for the month of September with the Cultural Food Tour.




Art Exhibit

Stettler Alberta Culture Days

September 2 through September 26 the Stettler Public Library is hosting an art exhibit consisting of a group of works by 14 Albertan artists.


What’s Cooking 1?

Wednesday, September 7 at 6:00pm in the HUB. Homemade Perogies with Maryna Yemelina. Learn the process of rolling, filling, shaping and cooking perogies from scratch.

Pencil Drawing with Linda Osetsky-Kneeland

Thursday the 8 at 6:00 p.m. at the Stettler Public Library. Learn about the tools and tricks of the trade as Linda provides an inspiring introduction to the art of pencil drawing. A number of Linda’s works are on display in the library.

Historic Ghost Walk

Stettler Ghost Walk

On September 9th and 10th discover the historical and dark side of Stettler on a leisurely walk through downtown Stettler. Join us for these special tours being offered at no cost during Culture Days.

Maximum 25 participants for each walk



Wheat Weaving with Irene Topolnitsky

Irene loves to wheat weave creating windmills, hearts, wreaths and much more. Come learn from how to complete a unique art piece of your own on the 10th at 10:00am and 1:00pm at Stettler Town and Country Museum.

Maximum 10 participants for each session- Classes are FULL


Learn the Art of Pysanky with Wendy Staal

Learn how to make Ukranian traditional pysanky eggs. Wendy Staal has been practicing the art of pysanky for 15 years. Join us on the 10th at 10:00 a.m. at the Stettler Ag Society Kitchen.

Borscht Stettler Alberta Culture Days

The Battle of the Borscht

Join the epic Battle of the Borscht and you could win a prize and bragging rights. A team of locas will pick the best Borscht at the Stettler Museum on the 10th at 1pm. For more information and to enter, sign up here. Borscht will be served after the battle!


What’s Cooking 2?

Homemade Nalysnyky with Brenda Murray. Impress your friends and family making these delicious cheese filled crepes. Chef Brenda from Brenda's Cozy Café will be teaching the class on Monday the 12th at 6:00 p.m. in the HUB. Maximum 12 participants- Class is FULL



Reclaiming your Family Medicines

Join a Zoom talk with Richard Van Camp at the Stettler Public Library for a very special presentation by award-winning author Richard Van Camp. Richard is a proud Tlicho Dene from Fort Smith, NWT who now lives in Edmonton.

He has authored 26 books and several of his works have been made into films, including the Lesser Blessed. His talk on reclaiming our family medicines is based on his recent book, Gather. Maximum of 30 participants

Documentary Double Feature

The Stettler Public Library will be screening two documentaries on Friday the 16th; Ukraine on Fire (Oliver Stone) at 6:00 p.m. and Winter on Fire (Evgeny Afineevsky) at 8:00 p.m. Both films are about the Ukrainian (Maidan) Revolution of 2014. Each film presents a different perspective adn you are welcome to come for one film or both There will be a discussion afterwards and popcorn and snacks will be provided.

Saturday, September 17 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stettler Public Library. Discover your ancestral roots, learn about your culture, research your family tree, and record it to know who you are.

Explore Clay with Jasper

Tuesday, September 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Stettler Public Library. Jasper is back to provide you with tips and help you get started on this fun and endlessly fascinating art. You do not need any prior knowledge of working with clay, bring your creative vision and join in!

Maximum 12 participants- Class is FULL


Paint Night: Sunflowers

Friday, September 23 at 6 p.m. at the Stettler Public Library. Have a fun night out and create a beautiful painting of a sunflower that can hang on your gallery wall. Mocktails and snacks will be provided. Ages 18+
