Shortly before 2:30 pm on February 5th, 2021, just north of Stettler, Stettler RCMP, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Stettler Regional Fire & Rescue were dispatched to a second party reported incident involving a pickup truck.
Initial reports indicated that no one had been trapped or thrown from the vehicle, however two people were treated for minor issues in relation to the incident on scene by firefighters and EMS was stood down from attending as a result.
The truck, which appeared to have left the road and tipped, lay on its side in the east side ditch of the roadway upon arrival of emergency responders.
Firefighters righted the vehicle using teamwork and manpower, after having disconnected the battery and ascertained that there was no danger in doing so.
While emergency crews worked diligently in the sub zero temperatures to bring the situation under control, firefighters controlled passing traffic while using the open lane to let vehicles alternate and maintain traffic flow.
Before long the incident was brought to a close and traffic was allowed to resume as normal.
No further information is available at this time regarding this matter.
