At roughly 10:30 am on Labour Day, September, 7, 2020, Stettler Regional Fire & Rescue were dispatched to a call involving an individual who was reported to 911 operators as having “ran in front of a moving vehicle” on Highway 56 just south of 40 Avenue in Stettler, Alberta.
RCMP and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were also on scene where a vehicle could be observed blocking the northbound lane. A detour was established while first responders tended to those involved and completed their investigation on site.
EMS could be seen leaving the scene with emergency indicators on board the ambulance engaged as firefighters directed the flow of traffic away from the area until investigators could complete their work.
Shortly after 11:20 am all in attendance had left the scene and the highway was once again open.
No further details are available at this time and RCMP were not available for comment at the time of this article given the Labour Day holiday.
