Remembrance Day Ceremony held at Memorial Park

November 11, 12:00pm StettlerLocal.com

At 10:45am today members of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 59 hosted Stettler's annual Remembrance Day ceremony honouring veterans present and past at Sharpe's Memorial Park.

Traditionally, the event is held at the PAC at William E Hay Secondary, however due to COVID-19 this year, the event was moved to the cenotaph at Memorial Park.

RCMP, members of the Stettler Royal Canadian Legion, Town of Stettler Mayor Sean Nolls, County of Stettler Reeve Larry Clark along with approximately sixty other community members gathered at the cenotaph to pay their respects.

At 11am a moment of silence was observed followed by a prayer and then an invitation for members of the community to lay wreaths for loved ones lost in war.

On Remembrance Day the Royal Canadian Legion honours and remembers Canada’s fallen Veterans and help ensure Canadians never forget.
