Police seek assistance after occupants flee following crash with utility box

Shortly before 9 pm on Thursday, July 16th, 2020, Stettler RCMP and Stettler Regional Fire & Rescue were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision involving a small car and a power junction box outside Stettler AutoTrust in the industrial area near the Cold Lake Migratory Bird Sanctuary.
The occupant(s) of the vehicle had fled the scene prior to emergency crews arriving.
ATCO Electric was called to disconnect the power to allow closer inspection of the scene and officials began their investigation and started collecting evidence.
After the immediate hazards were cleared and it was safe to work, Fastimes Towing Inc. was called to the scene to lift the car from the utility box upon which it was lodged.
By approximately 10 pm the scene had been cleared and emergency crews vacated the area.
This case is currently under investigation and the RCMP are seeking tips from the public that might assist them in locating the occupant(s) of the vehicle involved.
