Where are you from? Where did you grow up?

Born and raised in Stettler.


Why do you (did you) choose Stettler as home?

This is where I grew up, my husband owns a business in Stettler and my kid’s grandparents live here. We have some great friends that live in Stettler and living close to family and friends is important to us.


What do you do? What is your full title?

I am the current Vice-Principal of SES.


Education?

I have a Bachelor of Education degree from U of A, a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Yorkville University, and I am currently working on my Doctorate in Educational Leadership through the University of Portland. I will graduate with my Ed. D in May 2023!


Family?

I am married to Brad Syson and we have three daughters, Brenna (12), Leah (10), and Holly (7).


Who inspired you in your youth? My coaches and guidance counsellor at the school (Mrs. Clark, Miss. Foster, Mrs. Lower), my Uncle Orest, my big brother Justin.


Who inspires you now?

The teachers at SES, who balance their own personal lives while giving so much to their students, the leadership team at Clearview, my fellow administrators who work so hard and do so much behind the scenes. Also the kiddos who show up to our school while battling trauma and hardships and continue to build resilience and find joy!


Do you have any hobbies?

Cross-fit, golf, camping, & paddle boarding.


What are your plans for the future?

Principal of SES and finish my doctorate, some travelling.


Anything else you would like to add about being a resident of Stettler County?

I love being a member of this community.
