
Permanent Part time: 22.5 - 27 hours per week (days, evenings and weekends)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Day-to-Day Library Operations
• Acts as a front-line customer service representative, ensures that guests of the library receive
responsive and courteous assistance.
• Checks books and other materials in and out at the circulation desk using an automated
circulation system.
• Helps connect readers with books, movies and other materials by performing readers advisory.
• Assists guests of the library to access public computers and other equipment such as the
scanner, fax or photocopier.
• Is able to help guests access resources via the e-library. Is comfortable downloading library apps
and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
• Create positive relationships with the public and promotes the Stettler Public Library and its
services
• Able to respond to questions over the phone and in-person
Outreach and Programming:
• Provides and promotes outreach services to area residents as needed (e.g. colony schools,
services to homebound patrons)
• Acts as backup for the Circulation and Outreach Supervisor
• Maintains records on the reading preferences of outreach clients and places requests on
materials to ensure a steady supply of materials meeting client needs.
• Recommends purchases of equipment and library materials as needed to meet the needs of
outreach clients.
• Participates on the programming team according to interests, may provide support to team
members during various programs.
General
• Assists in the training of pages, summer reading club coordinators and volunteers.
• Assists in the preparation of promotional materials.
• Other duties as assigned by the Library Manager.
