Stettler Adult Learning Centre invites applications for a knowledgeable, experienced individual in adult education who is forward thinking and motivated to foster a culture of innovation and diverse learning opportunities for our students.
The Executive Director who will be reporting directly to the SALC Board of Directors will be responsible for:
Supervision and scheduling of four part-time staff and volunteers along with overseeing existing programs.
Interacting, collaborating and partnering with other organizations and educational institutions.
Maintaining positive relationships with existing funders along with pursuing alternative funding sources.
Work with the board of directors to move the organization forward strategically, maintaining its vision, mission and overall goals.
Representing SALC at community functions/events, provincial networks, conferences and forums.
Effectively managing the Society’s revenues and expenditures within the parameters of the approved operating budgets.
Establishing and maintaining external relationships and strategic partnerships.
Development or revision of board/staff policies and safe work practices.
Evaluating programs and reporting outcome measures, including database monitoring.
The successful candidate will need to possess:
A University Degree in Business Administration, Education and/or Social Work. Equivalencies may be considered.
Previous experience working in and/or managing a not-for-profit agency.
Strong knowledge of not for profit finances and budgets, being able to manage multiple funding sources on a yearly basis.
Proven skills or experience in strategic planning and proposal /grant writing.
Experience with financial software – QuickBooks will be an asset.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership and facilitation skills.
Ability to use a variety of technology platforms and web based applications.
Valid Drivers License.
This is a full-time hourly position offering a minimum of 28 hours per week between September – June each year, with some hours required during July/August during office closure.
