Just after 1:00 pm on Friday, November 27th, 2020, Stettler Regional Fire & Rescue were dispatched to a call involving a vehicle on fire in the Peavey Mart parking lot in Stettler.
Stettler RCMP were also on site and traffic was diverted past the entrance of the parking lot to allow first responders room to extinguish the fire.
The parking lot was full of spectators watching as the firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the flames, which seemed to be emanating from under the hood on the small car involved. The water, which fell in a torrent upon the vehicle, rendered the situation under control in a matter of minutes.
It took less than an hour for emergency crews to wrap up the scene and by 2:00 pm all personnel had vacated the area.
No information in regards to the cause of the fire is available at this time and no one was hurt in the incident.
