The 6th Annual Genetic Impact Ram & Ewe Sale returns to the Stettler Auction Mart

The Stettler Auction Mart was the site of the 6th annual Genetic Impact Ram and Ewe Sale on Saturday August 7th.

Crystal Rairdan, one of the Owner/Operators of the auction mart, says that this year was the second year the sale was held at their facility, and they are scheduled to return in August 2022.


Rairdan said sheep and ewe prices were good and even went up a little bit.


The Impact group, one of the biggest in Alberta, is made up of 4 breeders. Jordan Livestock(Rimbey), First Knight/Rose Glen (Halkirk), Sheep Trax/Coyote Acres (Halkirk) & Sheep Wrangler Farms (Barrhead). The Auction mart provides the facilities for the sale and does a lot of the promotions. The Impact Group organizes their members, and does the loading and unloading at the sale.


The event was also broadcast online.


Over the course of the sale registered ewes sold from $450-$1,700.00. Commercial ewe lambs ranged from $300-$500 per lamb. Registered rams prices ranged from $550.00 to nearly $2,000.00 with one ram going for $3,000.00 Purebred ewes averaged $1062 with high seller Jordan Erica 208H at $2100.00. Commercial ewe lambs averaged $447 and the high seller was Lot 43A from Veteran Colony, at $525 x 2. Rams averaged $1276 with high seller Jordan Dynamic 254J at $3300.


Buyers came from all over including the Three Hills Colony, Saskatchewan, and even one buy noted as based out of Ontario.
