Photo & Journalism Contest
Fall 2020 Journalism Contest
StettlerLocal.com is sponsoring a Journalism Contest for Youth in the coming weeks. With a cash prize and a chance of being published online, this is a fantastic opportunity for young writers to make a name for themselves. All articles will be submitted to wendy@rairdaservices.ca. See the guidelines below for submissions.
To enter:

you must be between the ages of 14-19

Articles written must be a minimum of 1,000 words
-
This article can be a news report or a story, first person or third person.

Must submit at least one original photo with the article
Prizes:
-
1st Place: $100 and a Plaque

2nd Place: $50 and Plaque
Deadline: November 1, 2020 at 5pm
Wendy Rairdan of Rairdan Services, Inc., Nick Schmidt of Central Alberta Business Centre, and Kim Smyth Clearview School Board Trustee will be the judges. Winners will be announced on November 20th at 5pm.
*All students submitting articles give Rairdan Services, Inc. the right to publish their article and photographs in perpetuity and without notice. Articles and photos will be credited to the writer. No submissions will be accepted after the deadline.
Photography Contest
We are also holding a photography contest for this same age group. Just like the journalism challenge, you have a chance to make some cash and be published online! Submit a collection of 20 photos of "Stettler in the fall".
Submit all photos to and see the guidelines below for submissions.
Guidelines:

To enter you must be between the ages of 14-19

You must write a short synopsis of each photo and why you feel it is a good photo

People, places, things are all acceptable
-
Must be ORIGINAL photography

No edits or filters are to be used
